Allison is the creative director and a producer of the True/False podcast, made in partnership with KBIA and the University of Missouri School of Journalism. In every episode, a True/False curator sits down with filmmakers to discuss the art and craft of nonfiction storytelling.

Allison attended the Transom Traveling Workshop, a deep dive into audio storytelling. In the course of a week, participants (some of whom had never held a microphone before) envisioned, recorded, and edited a short audio piece. Her piece from that week can be found on the Missouri Audio Project website and a shorter version went on to air on KBIA, the NPR affiliate station in Columbia, MO.
Every year in March, the True/False Film Fest celebrates the complex, surprising, and hilarious world we share – and the documentary films that capture it. Now, we want to give you a taste of the Fest year-round with the True/False podcast. Presented by KBIA. Hosted by Allison Coffelt.
